Belinda is a local to both Queanbeyan and Bungendore. She attended Queanbeyan High School and lived in Queanbeyan before settling in Bungendore. She is a member of the Southern Tablelands Historic Automotive Restorers Club (STHARC) where she enjoys driving her 1967 MGB – she loves her cars and is passionate about roads. She also volunteers with Wildcare Queanbeyan specialising in reptiles – she is an expert in turtle shell repair, a snake handler and trainer. Belinda was a Councillor and Deputy Mayor on Palerang Council and in her day job is a Human Resource Advisor with CSIRO.

With this background, her goal for the new Council is to ensure that the organisation is equipped to deliver core services. “It is important that the organisation retains the capabilities in terms of equipment, staff, and well-functioning teams to deliver core services - especially roads”. Belinda considers that focusing on the competencies of the organisation will be for the financial benefit of all residents by enabling Council to provide cores services cost effectively in-house. She is also passionate about building community she will do this by reviewing the pathway network, supporting community facilities, and retaining s.355 Committees to simplify and encourage use of Council facilities.
